HADDENHAM DOLLSHOUSE EXHIBITION 2015

After a slow start, we are starting to make progress with the organisation of this exhibition and getting the planning done and other necessary things in place. Posters are ready to be printed, and a number of clubs and standholders have already signed up for the event.

Air Ambulance and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People are going to be supporting the event through their websites and are pleased we are raising money for their respective charities.

All publicity is very welcome so please spread the word.

Admission £2.50, children £1.50.

Haddenhan Dollshouse Exhibition

After our month long trip around Scotland, never knew it could be so windy, it is all systems go for Haddenham. This is an established small exhibition that has been run every other year. We are thinking of trying to run it yearly, as this could be a way for dolls house clubs to show their work and encourage people to take up the miniature obsession. It always seems a little more than just a hobby, as the range of skills most miniaturists demonstrate are wide ranging and varied, crossing boundaries between one hobby and another, adapting and transferring skills to achieve what they want.

Thame Fair 2015

Well it has taken a little while to sort every thing out after the fair, but now all the left over sales table stuff, the signs and the electrical equipment is all in the attic. The money has all been counted, checked, banked and sent off to Breast Cancer Campaign. The grand total including the street collection was £2721.65. This is a brilliant amount and demonstrates how generous people are when something good is combined with a worthy charity. Thank you to every one who contributed.

The date for next year is 27 February 2016. Please put it in your diary. We already know this will be another excellent day out for miniaturists and their friends.

ALL SET FOR SATURDAY

As some of you may already know, Anthony Church the Town Crier has had to withdraw from supporting the fair for personal reasons. His support has been much appreciated in the past, and the street collection he does adds to the Breast Cancer Campaign total.

The weather seems to be on our side this year, and my phone has been noticeably quiet with regard to questions about flooding, snow and the elements trying to stop us opening.

We hope to see everyone on Saturday. 

One week to go

It is 4.20 and by this time next Saturday, every one will be packing up and taking stock of the day. We hope it is going to be a good one for every body with lots of visitors and sales.

Felicity will be around for some of the day, although she gets tired very quickly, and I do not want her to overdo things and set herself back. 

I will try to get as much prepared as I can on Friday evening, and hope to have every thing ready for 07.30 on Saturday, so you can all get in and set up.

We are looking forward to seeing you next week at Thame.

HADDENHAM DOLLS HOUSE EXHIBITION

This November, we will be organising the Haddenham Dolls House Exhibition. This is an established two yearly event which was organised by George and Freda Dorrell in aid of Hearing Dogs and Leukaemia. 

We intend to keep to a similar format this year, and will be supporting Hearing Dogs and the Air Ambulance. Once Thame is over, we will begin to look at how we might develop the exhibition and bring in more visitors.

Any ideas on how to turn this small venue into a bigger event will be welcome.
